Tarnished Haven is MISSING?? - Guild Wars Forums

OK.... so I noticed that today is double Kurzick and Luxon Faction donate so I decided to get my monk to MTSC.... Im missing a skill so I went to go get it from a quest line in Tarnished Haven.

I hit map and went over to where it would be. However, it is not there!

"Then you never got it in the first place"

No... I know for a FACT that I have that outpost. On top of that... I have The Cipher of Melendru... which you can only get....

he has no other locations for me to have aqquired the quest, therefore the only conclusion I can come to, is that it has somehow been erased...

So basically, a town/outpost I KNOW I have, is gone. I'm obviously going to have to run there or get a run, but I wanted to know if anyone else has had this issue?

Are you, I don't know, looking in the right place?

Look SE of Rata Sum.

Otherwise, check your characters. You might be slightly delusional and forgot a particular character doesn't have that location.

Also, I do have that location, so it's not the entire universe affected.

Yeah, im looking right at the empty spot, lol.

I run people there every now and then... The route is burned into my brain so I know where it is. =P

If I have never gotten the town, how do I have the quest then? Either way it is an anomaly .

i am a little confused. in your second pic, the area in the east where the outpost is, is still covered up on your map (aka, you havent been there yet). >.>

That's exactly my point! Tarnished Haven is MISSING from my map, it says I've never been over there, yet I have a quest FROM that outpost.

Edit: I know it sounds like im just trying to get attention / troll around but I swear I'm not.

I dont have a problem getting the town again... This is my problem:

The Cipher of Melandru is given by Kerssh in Tarnished Haven (outpost)

My monk has the quest, but the outpost is not there. It says I have never been there.

I know the pics dont really prove anything... but it's the truth... :/

It's a bug: "Some characters who have never been to Tarnished Haven have this quest in their logs, but the reason is currently unknown."

The town is there, you just haven't been there yet.

i dont think anyone saw it as a troll. i didnt know about that bug either and was just as confused as you were. ^_^

It's not just you... my friend and I were doing War In Kryta and we needed to map to Beetletun.

She has GWAMM with 100% Tyrian Cartographer and we were puzzled when it wasn't on her map. I had to run her there for it to appear again.

Yeah I don't think it's just you...I think there are shenanigans afoot. I'm a Legendary Grandmaster Cartographer (so all 3 continents 100% explored) and I was missing Beetletun yesterday too. I ran there and it reappeared. Maybe it's an issue with the latest update they did in the game, because my launcher DLed a bunch of content before loading when I had this particular issue.

There are several proph outposts you don't need for cartographer. Neither of mine have Piken, for example.

Yeah, Tyrian Cartographer is extremely forgiving. I have so much stuff not uncovered in Tyria on my GMC Monk

Thing with mine though is that I had already done the WiK that involved Beetletun and quests that go through that outpost...I *definitely* had it previously.

Tiny corruptions can occur in the dat file that give glitches like this. Have you ever had the game crash, and then the "repairing data file" window popped-up when you next tried to launch GW? It happened to me....for a year now my sin has got the arborstone outpost unlocked and the challenge mission outpost that connects to HZH, and has done the arborstone mission on normal mode, but a glitch a month later (game crashed, had to be repaired) now shows arborstone explorable completely unexplored, with the mission outpost showing that the mission hasn't been attempted.

I can recall at least two occurrences of this being reported in Game Bugs. Try contacting support/posting on the support forums. You're not going crazy; something does seem to be going on here.

The point was that they had 100% exploration and then had map go missing. Thus, meaningful (albeit not definitive) evidence rather than just some random guy swearing he'd been somewhere.
